You found a kitten, what do you do?

The ASPCA has some great information on what to do if you've found a stray outdoor kitten HERE
**Please do NOT feed kittens cow's milk. Kittens cannot properly digest cow's milk and it will lead to diarrhea and dehydration.
Do not Kit-Nap kittens!
It's a natural, loving instinct to want to seek help immediately for the tiny kittens we find, but please assess the situation first. In most cases, if the kittens look well fed and clean, their Mama is usually nearby, and has just stepped out to hunt for her dinner.
If the kittens are safe, do NOT remove them from where they are. First, you'll need to get a gameplan. Observe the litter from afar - really far- so Mama doesn't see you. Give her a few hours to return to her litter. If she hasn't returned in a few hours, then it's time to step in.
It's always best to do everything possible to keep Mama with her babies.
Friends of Strays Animal Shelter has a step-by-step outline of what to do HERE.
How old are they?
Hannah Shaw, The Kitten Lady, is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to everything kitten. Please visit her website HERE for a more detailed description of each kitten milestone.
